We do not tolerate a

• Induce any person to do or intentionally fail to do an act in violation of his or her lawful duties
• Induce a person to misuse his or her influence to obtain or retain business
in any form and we must avoid any activity that gives the appearance of a
bribe A Bribe is any item of value given with the intent to:

• Improperly influence an act or decision or secure an improper business advantage
• Induce any person to do or intentionally fail to do an act in violation of his or her lawful duties
• Induce a person to misuse his or her influence to obtain or retain business

    • Induce a person to misuse his or her influence to obtain or retain business

  • Comply with all applicable laws against bribery and corruption.
  • Recognize that strict rules apply to any interaction with a
    Government Official A Government Official can be any of the following:

    • Any officer or employee of a Government Entity
    • Any person acting in an official capacity for or on behalf of a Government Entity
    • A director, officer, or employee of a company or other business entity that is majority-owned or controlled by a Government Entity
    • A political party, official of a political party, or candidate for political office

    A Government Entity includes any government department, agency, function, or any company or business entity that is majority-owned or controlled by a Government Entity. Public international organizations such as the United Nations and the World Bank are also Government Entities.

  • Maintain accurate books and records of Marathon Oil’s business and never try to conceal a
    bribeA Bribe is any item of value given with the intent to:

    • Improperly influence an act or decision or secure an improper business advantage
    • Induce any person to do or intentionally fail to do an act in violation of his or her lawful duties
    • Induce a person to misuse his or her influence to obtain or retain business
    by documenting it falsely.
